The orange giant star Antliae is the brightest star in the obscure constellation of Antlia, the air pump. During his visit to the Cape of Good Hope in 1751, French Astronomer Abbe Nicolas Louis de Lacaille first drew Antlia constellation on his star map, which was published in 1752.
